It's 14th May 2020 and I've been in lockdown now for 54 days. My last gig was Arlo Parks at Yes in Manchester, on Tuesday 10th March - that's 65 days ago!
Whilst I love keeping the blog fresh with interviews, reviews and previews like most of you, I'm missing the feel, noise, sweat and pure raw of live music.
We're being spoiled for choice at the moment with so many artists streaming stripped down sets, covers and fundraising gigs for independent venues, the NHS and other worthy causes.
It's all great, but it's just not the same as being in a venue with loads of others fans, drenched in sweat and pogoing to your favourite tracks.
I follow Self Esteem on socials and she shared something on her Instagram about playing live and how she misses it and it got me thinking.
I take pictures at gigs to go along with my reviews and over the last few years I've taken some pretty incredible pictures. So here's some of my favourite pics that I've taken at gigs over the last few years of musicians totally and completely in their element - they may be softly focused or slightly skewed.
Seeing your favourite artists in a moment of pure bliss, that split second where they're in their element and you capture it is a thing of real beauty and so here's some of the ones I've captured over the last year or so.
