For my third Shine A Light Sunday I want to introduce you to London based, power trio Berries.
Already delighting the likes of Fender, BBC 6 Music & Radio X - They've supported Blood Red Shoes, Cherry Glazerr, Estrons and had live sessions for BBC Manchester and London.
The band also supported The Mysterines at The Dome in London in February, before COVID put a spanner in the works for the rest of their 2020 spring tour.
Grunge fused blues riffs, driving bass and intricate drums with songs that pack a punch - if this is your kind of jam, Berries are a band that you need to be listening to.
Bands are always going to draw comparisons, so to that end of you're a fan of bands like L7, Hole, Wargasm, Hands Off Gretel and Biffy Clyro are ones that I would say, sound similar.
Their last EP Lies gives you four blistering tracks and some idea of what this band are like live. Truth is I'm gutted that I haven't gotten around to seeing them playing live. Yet.
Everything crossed that Coronavirus starts to ease so we can get to some semblance of normality, so Berries can play as scheduled The Grace in London on 13th August; Liverpool Sound City and Beach Riot at Guildford's Boiler Room, later this year.
When we can all start going to gigs again, in the hopefully not too distant future, Berries are a band I am looking forward to seeing.
A lot, a lot.
